The Secret Place
Whenever I worship at church or home I can count on hearing God speak to me. Or sometimes it occurs during the day when I am going about my business as usual and all of a sudden a thought will come and something will come together that blesses my soul. The old song "I hear music and there's no one there" is a good description of what is taking place. Often I will wake up with a song going through my mind and I will sing it out. God speaks in so many ways. I have been praying to have "an ear to hear" what Holy Spirit is saying. It is happening. I can't say I am always alert and responsive but more and more I am becoming that way. There is a continual flow from the throne of God that we can tap in to. Our spirit man is where it is heard and acknowledged so if we are in the flesh, often we do not hear. But we can still go about and do things in the natural and have our spirit alert. It takes practice and a knowledge that we can approach God boldly. There are no barriers or condemnation because of the blood of Jesus. The veil is rent. "There is therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made us free from the law of sin and death."
Romans 8: 1,2
This week someone was needing prayer and I saw a vivid picture of a child clinging to the robe and legs of Jesus. I began meditating on that vision. Oh how I want to cling to the Master that way. He invites us to run to Him and do that. We can do that in prayer when we are overwhelmed, much like a child would cling to the skirts of its mother. Several scriptures came to mind with this vision. One was in Isaiah 6 with the vision of the Lord the prophet had. "I saw the Lord sitting upon the throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple." His train means his robe, hem or skirt in the Hebrew. I believe as we worship together the glory can come down and fill the temple. One day I want to see it with these eyes. But I believe as we are worshiping we are gathering in His robes. Hallelujah! The other scripture was one about Jesus as he went about healing the people. "And when the men of that place had knowledge of him they sent out into all that country round about, and brought to him all that were diseased. And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole". Matthew 14:35,36. Now that is what I think of when I touch the garment of the Lord, in prayer, in worship.
I love Psalms 91 and Sunday morning I felt such a drawing of the Spirit of God to come into the Presence. "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." I love to read the whole Psalm. It is so reassuring. The condition is that we dwell or abide with Him. "He covers me with His feathers and under His wings I will trust". I have such a desire to make Him my dwelling place. And yet He is inside me, I have continual access in the Spirit. He is drawing us saints, into the secret place, the closet Jesus talks about and had personal experience with. He drew aside frequently to gain strength and wisdom and direction. How much more do we need to do that. Oh there is such a sweet presence that happens and I believe we are close to seeing it corporately as we pray and worship Him together.
Grace and Peace,
Candy
