Journey of the Lamb
We are now in the year of 2015. Time marches on. On December 26th 2014 I woke up with phrases going on in my head. Our Christmas family celebration happened to be the day after Christmas this year. I wanted to honor the babe in the manger during our celebration in some way. I sat down at the computer and began writing a poem (not my normal gifting). About 4 years ago I was blessed with a revelation regarding our Lord as the Lamb of God. I'm still in process of receiving. Truly it has been a blessing to me.
My journey with the Lamb began when I was 6 years old. A tugging at my heart was calling me to receive Him as Savior....a decision I have never regretted a moment of my life. The journey hasn't always been easy but He has never left me. I can't say I have always honored and loved Him like I should, but His grace and love has covered me. Finding Him through the Word of God has especially enriched my life. He continually reveals Himself to me in so many ways. You can experience the joy and peace that comes from knowing Him. Just ask. Begin your journey with Him or enrich that journey you have begun. Let Him search your heart and know you. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you and to open your eyes to the wonderful relationship that is available.
So I'm sharing my poem with you. I hope it blesses you as it did me.
Journey of the Lamb
December 26, 2014 by Candace Kloxin
A beautiful
world He put into place
With one
Word stars were hung in space
Man and
woman created He them
In a
beautiful garden, they would sin
All the
animals lived in peace
But one sad
day a life would cease
They watched
as life’s blood flowed
The skin of
the innocent made man’s clothes
The serpent,
the tempter that led them there
The seed of
the woman would defeat his lair
The
firstborn to Adam would slay his brother
Because of
blood’s sacrifice God honored another
Years passed
and sin grew until God stopped its plan
Noah built
the ark to save all his clan
The animals
came to the ark two by two
Some would
be sacrifice when the flood was all through
Without the
shedding of blood there’s no remission of sin
A huge price
is paid so we can enter in
God found a
man who learned to obey
He would
offer his son as a sacrifice one day
But God
didn’t require Isaac’s life you see
For Abraham
saw the Lamb that would someday be
The nation
of Israel would bring forth the One
Who would be
the Lamb without blemish, a Son
Moses
brought plagues by the rod God gave
To deliver a
nation from being a slave
On the
doorpost was placed the blood of a lamb
The death
angel passed over all through the land
The journey
was long to the land He promised
Forty years
in the desert they were sorely tested
Time moves
on but a plan was in place
God would
manifest His love and His grace
A young
maiden was found who could really believe
In His love
and His power so we could receive
All we like
sheep had gone astray
But on Him
all iniquity would lay
A child was
born a Son was given
The Lamb of
God came straight from heaven
The angels
sang, the shepherds came,
They were
told Jesus is His name
Led by a
star shining bright from above
Wise men
came to see the Love
He grew in
wisdom and favor of the Father
And one day
he saw John at the river
John said
“Behold, the Lamb of God who takes our sin”
Jesus was
baptized and the dove did descend
The Father
acknowledged Him as His Son
Tempted by Satan,
His ministry had begun
Three years
he taught, healed, and delivered
A people in
darkness the Light soon discovered
He became
sin on a cross one day
Becoming the
Truth, the Life, the Way
The perfect
sacrifice, who knew no sin
Took on
death to win…….so we could live forever with Him
That life
begins anew you see
When we
receive the Christ of Calvary
Our journey
with the Lamb will start
When we
receive Him in our heart
He sits on
the throne, the right hand of the Father
Waiting to
receive the sons and the daughters
One day
every knee will bow, every tongue confess
He is Lord
of all, God gave His Best
The Lamb is
Worthy to open the seal
Bringing
time to the end, then we’ll see what’s real
As sure as
He came to a manger that day
He will come
again to take us away
The love He
brings is unimaginable
His joy, his
glory, his grace unspeakable!
May this year 2015 begin your journey with the Lamb anew.
Blessings,
Candy
